The Gold Standard for Bone Density & Body Composition
Body Analytics has the most comprehensive Dexa Scan in the U.S. We’re the only imaging center that offers TBS & 3D Shaper.

DEXA Scans
Bone Density Scan
The Bone Density DEXA Scan is a simple 5 to 6-minute scan providing your Bone Mineral Density, T-Score, and FRAX (Fracture Risk Assessment). Our DEXA also includes the TBS Software (Trabecular Bone Score) determining your Bone Quality, or strength of your bone in your spine. We now offer the 3D Shaper software, which can be included determening your Bone Quality of your Femurs, and produces a 3 Dimensional Image of your Femur.
Body Composition Scan
Body Composition DEXA Scan is a simple, 10 to 15-minute scan that takes a comprehensive snapshot of your exact breakdown of bone, fat tissue, and muscle mass. The DXA uses very weak x-ray beams to detect the composition of each square inch of your body, including your percentage of visceral fat which gives you the best insight into potential disease risks. While we do not assess or diagnose diseases or illnesses, the DXA will give you an advanced image of your entire body.
Benefits of DEXA
Understand Key Health Indicators
DEXA precisely measures both lean and fat mass, along with visceral fat, giving valuable insight into potential metabolic and cardiovascular risks.

I would highly recommend this place. The owner Johnny may be the most knowledgeable person on bone density and body composition that I have ever met. He takes the time to explain everything you need to know. I will definitely be back for future scans.

The appointment will take about 45 minutes. This includes printing the report and the report review. The Bone Density Scan time will take around 6 minutes. The Body Composition scan takes between 6 and 12 minutes, depending on your height and weight.
The Bone Density Scan’s radiation exposure is equivalent to flying from St. Louis to Los Angeles (when you’re in the air, you’re closer to the sun and therefore, more radiation). The Body Composition Scan is even less exposure, as if being out in the sun for an hour.
Yes, you will walk out with all your scans in hand.
Yes, our technician will print off and review every page with you. Our goal is to educate you on how to read and understand the results which you can share with your physician.
Comfortable clothing with no buttons, zippers, snaps, plastic, metal, or wood of any kind (these materials will be interpreted as bone and skew your results). No underwire bras, as they contain metal or plastic.
Body Composition Scans:
- Fast for 12 hours prior to your Body Comp Scan.
- Avoid exercise 24 hours before the Body Comp Scan.
Bone Density Scans:
- Avoid taking calcium 24 hours before your Bone Density scan.
This scan focuses on your hips (femoral bone) and the lumbar spine (L1 through L4). The scan will provide you with the BMD (bone mineral density) in those areas and your T-Score (comparing your bone density to a healthy 30 year old). If you also select the TBS Scan (Trabecular Bone Score) you will see the quality/strength of your spine. You will also receive a FRAX Report (Fracture Risk Assessment) showing how likely you are to have a major osteoporotic fracture or hip fracture. If you include the TBS, you’ll receive a FRAX that combines both bone density and bone quality/strength, which is more comprehensive information on your bone health.
This scan will identify your lean and fat tissue, both percentages and weight of these in your body, along with how much visceral fat you currently have. You will also learn your BMD (bone mineral density) of your entire body, and your BMI (Body Mass Index), along with much more information.
The Dexa uses X-ray (radiation) to measure, and is considered the gold standard for body comp, providing the most accurate information on your lean/fat tissue.
The Styku uses infrared light to measure and offers the visual component (your 3D image) and exact measurement of your body's circumference, along with measurements of lean/fat tissue.
